Scott Sheftall and Brian Torres founded the civil trial law firm of Sheftall & Torres, P.A., in 1996 with one goal in mind: to provide high-caliber legal representation to clients committed to achieving justice and whose complex legal problems demand nothing less. Experience has taught us to be selective in accepting client engagements, and we focus only those matters in which we believe our talent and experience can make a significant difference in achieving our clients' goals.

The law practice at Sheftall & Torres, P.A., is centered on litigation in the state and federal courts, including courts of appeal, in Florida and in other jurisdictions. We have achieved significant victories for our clients in jury and non-jury trials and in vindicating our clients' rights on appeal. If we are unable to resolve our clients' problems in any other way, we are fully prepared to try their cases in court and to represent them on appeal.

Often times, however, we are able to resolve our clients' cases before trial (and sometimes before a lawsuit is filed) by utilizing our skill and experience in negotiations with the adverse party at lesser cost in time and money. We also have significant experience in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. We are committed to achieving our clients’ goals as efficiently as possible without the undue expenditure of time or resources, while minimizing exposure to risk. To that end, we have also utilized alternative fee arrangements in appropriate cases since the inception of our firm.
